NORFOLK - Leonard "Lenny" Goodman, 83, passed away at his home May 5, 2009.

          Born in Norfolk Aug. 24, 1925, Lenny Tug McGraw official jersey was the son of Jacob authentic Tug McGraw jersey White and Tillie Legum Goodman. He graduated from Maury High School in 1942. He played baseball and basketball at Maury, American Legion baseball in 1941-1942 and baseball at the Alex Rodriguez official jersey University of Virginia in 1944. During his senior year at Maury, he covered high school sports for The Ledger-Dispatch in Norfolk and then worked for the paper in 1944- 45. He was employed by Goodman Electric Supply Company from 1947-1959 and thereafter at Shoney's of Tidewater until Tony Gwynn official jersey he retired as its chief executive officer in 1995.

 A lifelong member of Congregation Beth El, Lenny served as its president in 1972-1973. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Virginia Harfield Goodman; his sons, Allan H. Goodman and his wife Susan of Rockville, Md., Lloyd M. Goodman of Reston, Va., and Sanford M. Goodman and his wife Kathleen A. Bradley of Omaha, Neb.; his granddaughters, Perri Goodman Rosen and husband Michael of Gaithersburg, Md., Jillian Goodman and Madeline Goodman of Omaha; and his great-grandsons, Jacob Harris Rosen and Adam Henry Rosen of Gaithersburg. He was predeceased by authentic Tim McCarver jersey White his grandson, Joshua Keith Goodman formerly of Rockville, Md. He also leaves behind his brother, Stanley D. Goodman and his wife Paula of Norfolk; his sister, Ellen Miller of Fresh Meadows, N.Y.; a niece, nephews and cousins.
 The funeral authentic Alex Rodriguez jersey Grey will be held at Congregation Beth El, 422 Shirley Ave., Norfolk, Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the family's residence, 207 Oxford St., Norfolk. Donations in Lenny's name may be made to Congregation Beth El, the Beth Sholom Home of Eastern Virginia, or a charity of your choice. H.D.
